I heard from Caleb—Hecate came through for us! She got in touch with some of her parents’ old friends and asked them if she could introduce us to them. They were hesitant at first—they’ve had some bad run-ins with the mega-church during the past few years, and now they’ve pretty much gone underground. But she found out that the coven is meeting this week, and she gave Caleb an address right outside of town.
It’s hard to believe . . . I’ve been thinking of Hecate’s parents and their coven as ancient history. But of course people who were into witchcraft in the sixties and seventies are still around today. Real witches! I wonder what it will be like.
